EWB-SFP Programs

To change the world, we have to change our thinking — and change our engineering approaches for the 74 percent of the world that is still living in poverty.

Current Programs:

EWB-SFP has 5 active programs helping developing communities worldwide and in our backyard with their engineering needs:

Los Rios, Ecuador - well water supply and quality

Weledi, Ethiopia – monsoon flood management and structural repairs for local clinic and school

Vanua Levu Island, Fiji – water sanitation and distribution to stem typhoid outbreak

Arombe, Kenya – well water supply and quality

El Llanito, Nicaragua – water supply and quality based on existing well

Tranqilla, Panama - water crossing and treatment, water tanks and wells

Community Engineering Corps – a variety of local projects for under-served or displaced communities

Projects within these programs involve the design and construction of water, wastewater, sanitation, energy, health-care, and shelter systems. These projects are initiated by and completed with contributions from the host community. During the project implementation process, the host community is trained to operate the systems without external assistance. In this way, EWB-SFP ensures that its projects are appropriate and self-sustaining.
