Sarah Tanaka Co-Events Coordinator (Nicaragua El Limon Team) Member since: 2016 Background: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at UC Berkeley. "Engineering is usually defined as solving problems to make people's lives easier. The possibilities are endless. We can replace discs in people's spines, cure cancer, fly rockets, and program autonomous cars. At its best though, in its truest form, engineering can be even more powerful--when we design solutions as people, as humans who care for others, we solve problems that help balance the scales and provide opportunities for others. This truly is a rewarding experience and this chapter boasts some of the most fun and compassionate people in the Bay Area."
